A Message from Hannah
My name is Hannah Langley. I created this online magazine for aspiring writers involved in Los Angeles Parks and Recreation and/or the Boys and Girls Club programs. I believe every kid needs an outlet to express themselves.
Submit your work
Do you have a piece of writing you’re proud of? Send it to us! We would love the chance to publish your work!
Submission Guidelines:
You must be currently involved in one of the Los Angeles Parks and Recreation programs and/or the Boys and Girls Club and be between the ages of 8 and 17. Get your parents permission. Then you can send your stories or poems. Your work can be about imaginary situations or real ones and you should feel free to use your own experiences and observations to help you create your story or poems. You don’t need to type your work, as long as it is legible. The maximum length I can publish is about 2500 words; we have no minimum length.
How to send you story or poem:
You may email your work to page@thevine.net as an attachment or paste it in the body of the email. The following information is optional, you may include all, some or none. Please get your parents or guardians permission to include your first and last name, grade, age, name of your park and program you are involved in and a short biography, three or four sentences. If you have any additional questions, feel free to email us at page@thevine.net . Remember, make sure it is O.K. with your parent or guardian.
Or you may fax your story or poem to: (661) 297-0026.
We will NOT contact you in anyway or share your email addresses with anyone. If we decide to publish your work, it will be posted to the site ten days after submission. Please check the site in ten days. We cannot publish everything, so please don’t be disappointed if we do not use your work. Just keep writing and send us another one when you’re ready.
